In August 2018 three close friends from Amsterdam did what they do best; they combined their interests and substantial experience stemming from their days working in some of Amsterdam’s finest and most popular bars and opened a charming cocktail bar, serving quality craft cocktails, delicious homemade sushi and dim sum. They called their new place-to-be ‘Kampai’ after the Japanese word for ‘cheers’. In Japan ‘kampai’ is taken very seriously; it is considered rude to start drinking before everyone has a drink to say ‘kampai!’ with. That’s something the three friends could get behind and so they embraced that concept for their bar. Following that concept, being together and sharing the scrumptious cocktails and food is fundamental for Kampai.
The bar is tucked away in the Red Light District at the Geldersekade 19, just a stone’s throw away from Amsterdam Central Station.
