THE BEARDED LADY SERVES HOME AND HANDMADE SOUL FOOD FROM BROOKLYN TO BALI. A CHEERFUL MIX OF BEST FROM THE WEST AND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FROM THE EAST WITH A SPECIAL PLACE IN HER HEART FOR OUR INDONESIAN AND MOLUCCAN ROOTS.
Welcome to the house of The Bearded Lady, for an umami soul food adventure.
Just be pampered all evening with a menu where old rocky road classics meet the new galaxy umami adventures. We hope that this makes the home of The Bearded Lady a different time zone. A green oasis where you can eat to forget.
Once upon a time we started the Bearded Lady to give us the perfect excuse to fill our kitchen table with friends. Our secret ingredient is some nostalgia, so they will come back time after time. Probably a little handicap about loving and being loved. But always fun, all gathered around the kitchen table. That table became too small, so we started our deli in the city center of Amsterdam in early 2017.
Our dream was and still is to create your own place with its own time zone. Not a perfect house, but a living room where everyone feels at home, where the music is sometimes a bit too loud, where not everything goes according to the rules, but with a lot of genuine pleasure.
Our muse is Clementine Delait, a French cafe boss from the last century in the Vosges, who grew her beard and thereby flourished the café of her and her sick husband. She turned her weakness into her strength, just as our parents from the ancient Indies tried to make a home here. We admire their cheerful, headstrong creative solutions. That is why, with our European, Indonesian and Moluccan roots, we have developed an Asian and Western cooking style in which the best ingredients and recipes from East and West find each other. It is our way to pass on their stories and touch as many guests as possible with infectious passion.
We serve various tasty snacks and sophisticated menus from a mix of Asian fusion, French, old-school Indonesian and Indian. In the deli, during private dinners, or on location.
Would you like to dine together with your colleagues, friends and/or family? This is possible on behalf of the RIVM rules up to 15 people.
