On September 22, 2008, Van Velze's opened its doors for the first time. The business is run by chocolatier and pastry chef Robbert van Velze and his partner, Irish Deborah Kilroy. They met in Australia. Robbert and Deborah share their passion for offering luxury products such as Single Origin chocolate and cake. In a way that uses only responsible ingredients.
Deborah studied Hotel & Catering Management on DIT Cathal Brugha Street in Dublin and has many years of experience in the hotel and catering industry.
Robbert comes from a family of Patissiers. The tradition started in Doorn (Utrecht) in 1885. After years of experience in the pastry shop, he worked as a cook in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. He now applies these experiences in Van Velze's.
